Nagoya Higashi, Kariya | Week 3 T.9 :: Happy New Year! 2020

Happy New year! 明けましておめでとうございます🎉

Today's gonna be a bit shorter :) Highlights: - went to a big beautiful Shrine with some friends - woke up at 4am and watched 初日のでhatsuhinode! (the first sunrise) with some good friends at a beautiful location I forgot what it was called hahaha. - spent good time with members and had delicious meals with them. - deep cleaned the apartment again hahaha - got in some good studies Miracle! On the day we were allowed to start housing and street contacting again we gave a man a Book of Mormon! He speaks Spanish so my Brazilian comp was able to communicate with him (so cool right?!). He came to church the very next day, luckily we have a family in our ward also from a Spanish speaking country so they translated for him. He even started reading the Book of Mormon and has a lot of interest in it! We decided it was best the Elders start teaching him (they're both Brazilian and easier since they are the same gender) They ended up having an awesome lesson with him! I've never met someone who just comes to church the day after meeting them! Really cool and surprising experience. Well, I'm pretty wiped from the new years week here, I thought I'd feel rested up after not being allowed to do regular missionary work for 4 straight days, but nope. I think the hatsuhinode and crazy cleaning got me good😅😂 Im now in the part of Alma where it talks about captain Moroni (I love captain Moroni). Alma 48:17 Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men. This verse always amazes me, I want to be more like him! If you read verses 11-18 you can learn more about what kind of man he is. :) I hope you all have a happy New Year! 💓🎉 Love Horito Shimai
