Minasan Konnichiwa!

I can’t believe its already week three! Time has been flying by but at the same time it feels so slow. The language has been coming along slowly. Grammar structure, and conjugating is not fun, but my reading and writing has increased A LOT. Jolley Shimai and I had our first member TRC and I ran into an old Timpview lacrosse teammate Whitney Shimai, who served in the Fukuoka Mission! Every p-day (Wednesday for me), we go to the temple as a district and last week I did a sealing session as a proxy daughter for the FIRST TIME. It was beautiful. I also ran into Sister Hunkin (Aunty Hina) when walking into the temple, I love her so much, she’s such a great example.

I increased my understanding of how the Holy Ghost works this week. My companion and I were assigned to teach a lesson on Sunday about recognizing the spirit. Through my study I was able to learn that the spirit speaks to me more than I thought. I often associate feeling the spirit with an overwhelming sensation, but the spirit has many ways of manifesting itself and it is often unrecognized until much later.

Moroni 7:13,16-17

“But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.”

In a devotional talk by David A. Bednar on recognizing the spirit he advises us to, “Quit worrying about it, press forward with faith, honor your covenants and keep the commandments, you will find your self at the right place and the right time and be filled with the spirit.”

For yesterdays devotional we had Elder and Sister Teixeiria speak to us. They both had great talks and gave us good advice as missionaries to not take our missions for granted. You get out what you put in, use our time wisely, and make the choice to have a good attitude.

Missions are all about making goals, to help us think about our goals my teachers asked us three questions as if it was our final day on our mission.

1. What do I want to say I have done as a missionary?

2. What do I want to become?

3. What differences do I want others to notice in me?

For those of you have served missions already I would love to hear your responses, and even those who haven’t served but are preparing these are good questions to ask yourselves because its never too early to start preparing!

Anyways I’m out of time,

I love you all so much!
