Shizuoka, Fujieda | Week 6 T.6 :: On to New/Old Things in Kariya!

Shizuoka, Fujieda | Week 6 T.6 :: On to New/Old Things in Kariya!

Hello, I don’t have a lot of time!

Well I got transfer calls and I'm...transferring. Kind of not suprised, but at the same time suprised. Thankfully I'm going back to somewhere I have been before, which is Kariya!

I’m so sad to be leaving all of my friends! :( Here’s some updates about them.

Yamaguchi san

We actually lost contact with her for a bit because she went out of town and has no cell phone, but we got a hold of her and she came to church! We had a good lesson with her just reveiwing everything. She didn't know I was leaving until that appointment so she gave me her bag as a parting gift :,)

Midori san

We went over to her house for a sushi lunch! But before the lunch started she had us sit down and share our message with her husband! She was telling him how much gshe admires us and really wanted to tshare his message with him. it was so cool, I've never had so many investigators offer us to a referral, especially a family member, or spouse! So crazy, but it was so good. Her husband is so sweet and he said that he would read the Book of Mormon. He actually red a little bit before we came over. The sushi was so delcious! I dont have time to send pictures but next week i will.

Shindou san

Shes doing good, she also came to the sushi lunch but later so she didn't hear our gospel message. We met again with her on Saturday night as usual just in her shop with Midori. Shes so sweet, and I wish I could be here longer to see how she will progress!

Fuka

We didn't see her this past week, but we are going to see her tonight and go to dinner with her too! I wish I could see whats going to happen with her as well.

New Friends!

A while ago when I was in Numazu Galdino and Barnes shimai street contacted some really nice people from the Phillipines! They gave us their address but we’ve been too busy/forgot to go over there and find it. It was kinda tricky to find, but we found their family and now have 3 new people we are teaching! Our forst lesson was with them last night, I feel so good about them wow.

Wow I'm so sad to leave and not be able to see where things go with all of my sweet friends! But I guess thats just the mission life anyways. Thats why members are so important because they are the ones who stay there and can really take care of them. I'm so thankful for all of my wonderful experiences that I had here in Fujieda these past 9 weeks :,)

Now I'm on to new/old things in Kariya! I'm actually really excited because thats the area that I had my first 2 and only baptisms! I'm excitedg to see my friends again and help them come back to church (they are pretty less active now from what I heard). So yes, I know its all the Lords plan. Who knows, maybe one day I'll come back to Fujieda!?

I have a quick little experience I want to share;

This past week has been rough, I kinda knew I was transferrring before we got the calls because of how my interviews went and also other reasons. Let me tell ya, it was not easy. Being transferred around so much makes it hard to feel like I have a purpose, I know that I really do, but satan is really good at making me feel like I dont. I was pretty down.

I had a cool experience though. Before I actually got the call, through the Lords grace and mercy he was table to soften my heart.

(Little background details) So every week we visit a really sweet recent convert in the ward. We go over to her house and wash her hair, sing hymns with her and share a spiritual message. Its one of my favorite appointments of the week, I really love this member. Recently we challenged her to read the Book of Mormon, 1 chapter every week and then we follow up with her.

During my personal study I read over 1 Nephi chapter 2 to study for our appointment. The scripture that I read was really simple, its when the Lord commands Lehi to take his family and leave Jerusalem. I really admire Lehis immediate, exact obedience, as well as his immediate gratitude in verse 7. Reading this gave me enough comfort and courage to have faith an follow whatever the Lords plan was for me.

2 And it came to pass that the Lord commanded my father, even in a dream, that he should take his family and depart into the wilderness.

3 And it came to pass that he was obedient unto the word of the Lord, wherefore he did as the Lord commanded him.

4 And it came to pass that he departed into the wilderness. And he left his house, and the land of his inheritance, and his gold, and his silver, and his precious things, and took nothing with him, save it were his family, and provisions, and tents, and departed into the wilderness.

7 And it came to pass that he built an altar of stones, and made an offering unto the Lord, and gave thanks unto the Lord our God.

I'm so thankful for the Book of Mormon. I'm thankful that the Lord is mindful of me. I know he is mindful of you all as well.
